The Lifetime Care & Support Authority requires that the LTCS Guidelines are applied when making an assessment of the treatment, rehabilitation or care needs of Scheme participants.

Neuropsychological assessment guidelines

These updated (2006) MAA guidelines for the neuropsychological assessment of traumatic brain injury have been developed with a representative industry working party. They are for use by all parties involved in a CTP claim. They are organised in two parts. Part 1 focuses on arranging assessments, particularly practice effects,  scheduling assessments, agreeing on a psychologist and communicating information. Part 2 focuses on conducting assessments, including typical pattern of impairments observed, information required in neuropsychological reports, neuropsychological test selection, test interpretation, opinion and recommendations and reporting test results. The guidelines are supplemented by stand-alone information sheets for claimants and additional information for clinicians.
