Anyone severely injured in a motor accident in NSW on or after 1 October 2007 may make an application to the Lifetime Care and Support Authority.
Children aged under 16 years injured in a motor accident in NSW on or after 1 October 2006 can also apply.
To be eligible for the Lifetime Care and Support Scheme, one of the following severe injuries must have occurred as a result of a motor accident:
- Moderate to severe brain injury
- Spinal cord injury
- Severe burns
- Multiple amputations
- Permanent blindness
